Student Lounge

Welcome to Game Institute's Student Lounge! This is a great place to interact with fellow students, members of your project team, or perhaps just spend some time relaxing after a hard week of studying. Our live classroom environment is embedded directly into this page and grants you full access to any currently active public rooms. You can even create your own private room simply by using the /join command, specifying a unique name. This is an ideal way to collaborate privately with colleagues, students or even members of staff without the distractions of a busy public room. In addition, live streaming audio support is enabled for everyone in all public channels, so get your headsets ready, and enjoy the experience!



	Flash The Game Institute classroom system uses the Adobe Flash player. This allows us to provide a fully portable platform on which quality distance education can be provided in a rich and engaging environment. To prevent any potential compatibility issues, we strongly recommend that you download the latest version of the Flash player from Adobe by visiting their site directly, or by clicking on the button below. When making use of the live streaming audio feature in this classroom, we highly recommend that you use a quality combined headset / microphone whenever possible. This will dramatically reduce the echo effect that is caused when using a standard unidirectional microphone, which may pick up the sounds emitting from your computer's speakers when other users are communicating. If you must use a standalone microphone, please make sure that you use headphones rather than playing the audio through your computer speakers. This will ensure that you will not be sending the echo back into the classroom, harming the experience for everyone in the channel. Thank you. The Game Institute Faculty & Staff
