Steve Jones graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has also received a Specialized Certificate in C/C++ Programming from the
University of California, San Diego. He has been programming professionally since 1995 for Hewlett-Packard. During that time he has programmed various industrial hardware from
DeviceNet CAN bus systems to Programmable Logic Controllers and SCARA robots. He has also programmed manufacturing assembly equipment using C++ and MFC libraries. Steve’s
game programming passion was first after the hit game Wolfenstein 3D was released from ID Software. He has written a live seminar for debugging using the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE
and has given many live presentations at the Game Institute. Steve also maintains a game development website, http://www.gameengineer.net, where he provides tutorials and sample code for
DirectX graphics programming and other game related things.
