Chuck Bolin

Chuck learned electronics and the operation of computers down to the component level in 1981. In those days a single bit in a CPU register could be troubleshot and repaired by replacing a transistor. He wrote his earliest programs on several types of Navy computers. He purchased his first computer, an Atari 1040, in 1986 and taught himself GFA Basic. In 1991 he began programming in GWBASIC and QBasic on the PC. In 1995 he completed a C programming course and began learning Visual Basic. He began working with small industrial robots, lasers and various manufacturing machines in 1993. As a home-schooling dad, he sponsored a computer programming club in his home for two years teaching QBasic to students. In 2002, he learned C++ and wrote his first 3D game using OpenGL and the GLUT library. Chuck teaches electrical, electronic and PLC courses for a local community college. When Chuck is not busy teaching or mentoring students, he finds time to take courses at Game Institute. He has completed both C++ courses and is presently enrolled in the Graphics Programming with DirectX 9 series.
